Keep yourself and your employer out of court and out of the media with the AFIP Certification Program! The AFIP Basic Certification Course is your first step to showing your customers and peers you’re a skilled professional. In the Basic Course, you’ll learn about the state and federal regulations that apply to the in-dealership F&I process and about the ethics associated with the daily application of your duties. AFIP Certified F&I Professionals must sign and agree to abide by an enforced industry-derived code of ethics.

Product Description

The AFIP Basic Certification Course comes with all the materials you need to study for the AFIP Basic Certification Course exam inccluding a full pre-exam review session (call AFIP to schedule), and one prepaid testing session at a LaserGrade testing facility (retake fee is the responsibility of the candidate). Candidates must score 80 percent or greater on each section (federal, state, ethics) to become AFIP Certified F&I Professionals.

Passing candidates will receive a framed diploma, access to the AFIP Certified F&I Professional logo for their business cards and stationary, listing on AFIP’s web roster of certified F&I Professionals, access to a press release to submit to local media outlets, a free one-year subscription to F&I Management and Technology (AFIP’s endorsed monthly publication), and a free six-month subscription to Spot Delivery (a monthly legal and regulatory newsletter from the dealership lawyers at Hudson Cook).

Basic Certification Period: Two years (then you must become Senior Certified to maintain your certification and individual membership status).

Commercial offering may differ.

Course types:

Franchised – new car dealers; has leasing and installment sale sections
Independent – typically, used car dealers, has installment sale section only
Motorcycle/RV/Marine – has installment sale section only
Commercial – commercial trucking and heavy equipment; based on federal laws unique to the commercial trucking industry
